January 2003

  • 1-1 Bob realizes that his on-the-air confession has targeted him for death. He is not worried...
  • 1-3 .. his mike goes silent. His youngest friend grieves deeply.
  • 1-6 So deeply, in fact, that Bob's soul cannot fully cross over
  • 1-8 The harbinger of Death tells Bob that he is loved...
  • 1-10 and that he has a few moments left. Which the Elder Mother would help him live, if she could
  • 1-13 Bob's mike going dead generates a great deal of suspicion, among other things
  • 1-15 Borzoi despairs and tells the Mayor of his group's horrible contingency plan, as the youngest Animen escapes his parents
  • 1-17 The loud bear discovers what the details of this hideous plan are-and the role they intend HIM to play!
  • 1-20 The loud bear hesitates to do such an awful thing... the psychotic Furry Unity members ask him whose side he is on
  • 1-22 Finally seeing himself in the true scheme of things, the loud bear at the last minute foils the plans of the psychotic furs
  • 1-24 Unfortunately, the small bear is no match for the larger thugs
  • 1-27 The avian girl cries out an emergency call in Avianic, and Ted Tallone hears her
  • 1-29 Ted takes the psychos into custody, but not before they exact their revenge on the unfortunate little bear.
  • 1-31 Borzoi realizes just how wrong things have gone and comes clean completely

    February 2003

  • 2-3 Borzoi was hoping to take advantage of the new order to be the chief respositor
  • 2-5 An anxious Cotton contacts Tavatiana, who is on her way to Furriston
  • 2-7 Charlie is asked to momentarily fulfill the role that Borzoi would have had him play
  • 2-10 Avariss believes that everything is going his way
  • 2-12 Steven rages at his father for the crime he's almost sure the elder Avariss has committed
  • 2-14 Cotton prepares himself for the final act in the drama, as Steven arrives
  • 2-17 Cotton takes Steven to learn the answer to the questions that have shaped his life...
  • 2-19 ... that the Elder Mother is his mother.
  • 2-21 Steven believed that his mother was dead... he had no idea what she and his father went through
  • 2-24 The youngest of the Animen refuses to let Bob go without a fight and the Elder Mother thinks that it can be done...
  • 2-26 ...with Steven's help.
  • 2-28 And it seems she was right!

    March 2003

  • 3-3 Bob debates whether he was worth all that effort... but the effort itself has been found out...
  • 3-5 ..by Steven's father, who also did not seem to suspect that Steven's mother was still alive
  • 3-7 Plebe belies the hostility that humanity has toward the Animen, not yet suspecting that Avariss married one of them
  • 3-10 The elder Avariss confronts the younger... and his mother
  • 3-12 The foundation for Avariss' rage and the true motivation for his actions come forth
  • 3-14 And Plebe had no idea. But, enraged at the failings of his idol, he has a new one...
  • 3-17 Cotton can only wonder at how truly messed up Avariss is
  • 3-19 Bob O'link, having played his most instrumental role in making Avariss responsible for his crimes, slips away without regret.
  • 3-21 The harbinger of Death leads Bob to the next level. Bob, redeemed, goes willingly. He is fulfilled at having earned love.
  • 3-24 Joleen places Michael Alan Avariss under arrest.
  • 3-26 Joleen reads Avariss his rights, and Avariss is brought down by how little his defeat means to the world
  • 3-28 Cotton discovers, without any surprise, that Plebe has been watching...
  • 3-31 And, outraged at Avariss' failure, plans to ignite the flammable gas in the building where Tavie was once gien sanctuary

    April 2003

  • 4-2 Cotton, realizing just how deep the madness of the world is, gives Gene and CatsWhisker the word...
  • 4-4 ... and so, it is done. *click*
  • 4-7 Across the country...
  • 4-9 ...across the world...
  • 4-11 ...every corner of the Earth.
  • 4-14 And what of Cotton?
  • 4-16 Is Tavatiana in time?
  • 4-18 Yes!
  • 4-21 And the ancient tribe from which Cotton and Tavie's ancestors came from are grateful!
  • 4-23 Cotton did it. And survived, thanks to his friends and his training.
  • 4-25 And so is conveyed to that realm between dimensions, one day to return
  • 4-28 Suddenly Charlie and Borzoi come tearing outside, carrying the self-awareness circuits of the sorter...
  • 4-30 ...before Plebe, unable to bear the knowledge of the way the world truly is, sets off the gas explosion.

    May 2003

  • 5-2 But if Fomhault Plebe thought that what he had to bear on Earth was impossible to stand...
  • 5-5 Gene and CW get a quick interview by Rennie
  • 5-7 CatsWhisker asks the Elder Mother... why?
  • 5-9 As the Avariss facade falls, the media hype is already growing
  • 5-12 Massive interviews and question-and-answer sessions all round
  • 5-14 Tavatiana prepares to return home, bringing Charlie for a visit. A fond goodbye to Gene and CW
  • 5-16 Avariss authorizes Rollie to turn over to the authorities evidence that will mean his life, preferring that to a life in prison. A life which, from the photo on his desk, probably stopped being what he really wanted a long time ago. THE END
  • 5-19 Wrap Party! The first story is in the can, time for fun!
  • 5-21 Steven samples Alice's Bounder cookies... and bounds. (Mandy tried to warn him...)
  • 5-23 Mandy Mouse goes into her 'show business' mode. The Raccoon Kids join the party!
  • 5-26 The Kids are just as precocious as ever
  • 5-28 And, apparently, so are some other raccoon types!!
  • 5-30 Wrap Party ends! By leaps and bounds!

  • 6-2 A brief epilogue: Ted visits the hospitalized victim of the aberrant Furry Unity faction
  • 6-4 Ted asks the Unimportant Bear if he would approve a visitor. He declines...
  • 6-6 ...but she visits him anyway! That's all for now.
  • 6-9 Meanwhile, Gene and CW experience the different forms their new popularity can take...
  • 6-11 ...and what it is that makes the incident that brought them that popularity unique.
  • 6-13 They decide to use the uniqueness of it to their own advantage
  • 6-16 The decision is ruminated over in Bev's cafeteria
  • 6-18 Gene reveals the details of the ploy
  • 6-20 But their intended victim doesn't respond as they ought to
  • 6-23 Elsewhere, Crendall mulls angrily (and drunkenly) over the latest events
  • 6-25 His friend at work, Brent, tries to get through to him, with threatening results
  • 6-27 But apparently Brent knows Crendall well enough to partially defuse the threat
  • 6-30 Gene and CW differ in their approach to their situation

    July 2003

  • 7-2 Gene looks to the future, after their notoriety has waned
  • 7-4 Apparently CW agrees
  • 7-7 Charlie Horowitz makes new friends in Canovia
  • 7-9 Parson Bedford relates to Charlie the events (Bob's funeral) during his absence
  • 7-11 Charlie relates to Parson Bedford the experiences with his new friends
  • 7-14 Gene and CW meet the cabbie cat Jamie Abrams!
  • 7-16 Jamie relates to them how the change has affected him on the way to Tom Cheshire's
  • 7-18 Upon arriving at Tom Cheshire's, Gene and CW reveal they will be performing there that evening
  • 7-21 In Canovia, Tavatiana notices that Charlie has been unaccounted for a little too long...
  • 7-23 Charlie explains as much as he can - Tavatiana lets him keep his secret...
  • 7-25 And those from whom a great deal is being kept secret become known
  • 7-28 Gene and CW prepare to perform
  • 7-30 Tom Cheshire's is packed as CW prepares to sing

    August 2003

  • 8-1 Thanks to the unknown beings, CW's song travels farther than she could have dreamed
  • 8-4 Crendall finds new confidence...
  • 8-6 ...with, once again, the urging of those unknown
  • 8-8 The outcome of their unsuspected manipulations seem to satisfy them
  • 8-11 At the conclusion of her song, CW notices something different...
  • 8-13 Jamie and Gene quickly take CatsWhisker home
  • 8-15 Gene and CW discuss the matter before retiring
  • 8-18 Next morning, they conjecture that it might have been a fluke - then it happens again
  • 8-20 They make a comittment to work through the problem
  • 8-22 Once at work, something happens to Gene as well!
  • 8-25 Now Gene and CW are in the same predicament...
  • 8-27 ...And no one suspects the unseen, unknown beings
  • 8-29 They enlist the aid of Cotton's older step-brother Ernie

  • 9-1 Meanwhile, the media continues to evaluate the changes in the world
  • 9-3 Mandy Mouse and her fellow townsfolk are interviewed
  • 9-5 Hugh N. Creigh wanted the assignment, but is given a more urgent one
  • 9-8 Ernie breaks it down to Gene and CW about the Sight of the Soul
  • 9-10 CatsWhisker is nervous, but decides to trust Ernie
  • 9-12 Gene would like to trust Ernie, but there's a measure of Cotton's behavior in him!
  • 9-15 Ernie discovers that Gene's condition may need special treatment
  • 9-17 Gene declines to put himself in line for an evolutionary upgrade...
  • 9-19 ...but discovers that the only way to do so may involve catnip!
  • 9-22 Lloyd and Alice view Crendall's latest appearance on TV
  • 9-24 Crendall manipulates conventional belief to his own advantage
  • 9-26 Having begun to sow the seeds of doubt, Crendall enlists more aid
  • 9-29 Gene refuses to go the catnip route, but doesn't seem to have much luck avoiding his new ability

    October 2003

  • 10-1 Gene's self-aware scanner tells of a hitherto unseen menace
  • 10-3 There are a trio of eons-old Animen who do not have the betterment of humanity at heart
  • 10-6 Charlie is ushered by his new friends into the group of humans being protected from the ancient Animen
  • 10-8 The others discuss their situation - Charlie seems to have found someone more interesting...
  • 10-10 Charlie and his new friend seem to be less inclined to worry
  • 10-13 His new friends explain where they are - and how their location helps them give protection to humanity
  • 10-15 Mandy lives in a similarly enabled location - which explains the human-furry unanimity of Tyler's Tail
  • 10-17 Both Tyler's Tail and the protector's hidden location are avoided by the ancient Animen's perception
  • 10-20 Gene decides, upon discovering this new threat, that there is no avoiding using his new ability
  • 10-22 CatsWhisker is already prepared to enter the fray
  • 10-24 And the ancient Anime do not suspect that they are known
  • 10-27 CatsWhisker begins to get the word out - but only a notification is sent via SotS, not the info itself
  • 10-29 Furtel News instructs their reporter to remain in Tyler's Tail
  • 10-31 Gene wants to act, but in covert ways... CatsWhisker isn't that surreptitious about it at all

    November 2003

  • 11-3 Eighth Kanamemphos wonders about Ernie's condition as the New Human Racers head for Furriston
  • 11-5 Ernie informs the Animen child that he can't be mended as Crendall spots Gene and CW at Bev's
  • 11-7 Ernie explains the past evils that have surfaced genetically in him as Crendall walks in
  • 11-10 Crendall finally confronts Gene and CW - only to discover that he may have been in contact with CW before
  • 11-12 Having lost the edge, Crendall has no idea who the real enemy is. Gene and CW offer to tell him...
  • 11-14 ...and Crendall, as traditionally anti-furry as he has been up to now, can recognize the potential for truth
  • 11-17 In Canovia, Tavie mistakenly reveals a hint about her condition
  • 11-19 Crendall gets Brent away from the other two troublemakers to put him in touch with the real facts
  • 11-21 Even Ernie's awful faux pas doesn't dissuade Crendall from rethinking himself about furries
  • 11-24 The protectors of SotS-enabled humans prepare to let them return home - Ramila decides to go with Charlie
  • 11-26 Brent initiates Crendall's plan
  • 11-28 Charlie goes home... Crendall's wife goes crazy...

    December 2003

  • 12-1 ...Tavatiana goes to see Cotton!
  • 12-3 The Canovian couple spend some quality time together
  • 12-5 Cotton helps Tavie unburden herself. In more ways than one...
  • 12-8 Too soon, the visit must end
  • 12-10 The individual parties - public and private, seen and unseen - put themselves in place
  • 12-12 Gene and CatsWhisker work with the pangolin-like protectors of humanity
  • 12-15 But Ramila and Charlie don't seem to accept the preconcieved notion that they must buy into the deception
  • 12-17 Neither does T.C. even after being approached by Crendall's cohorts
  • 12-19 With Mr. Harker's refusal to buy into the phony 'crisis', their protectors can no longer hide them
  • 12-22 The SotS-enabled humans are discovered - and now there is a REAL crisis to deal with...
  • 12-24 ...which Crendall and the Elder Mother of the Animen have set themselves to opposing
  • 12-26 The ancient Animen are, apparently, no longer the same species as the Elder Mother
  • 12-29 The oldest of the three seems to hold sway in a cruel manner over the two younger ones...
  • 12-31 ...and has no compunctions about using his power upon them - and the Elder Mother as well!
